The Open Cities Committee is the statutory and chief executive body of the Association, providing its strategic direction and vision. The Committee comprises five members and is elected by the membership for two years.
Open Cities is now composed of 20 members from different levels of government in the country.
The activities of Open Cities impact 2 083 518 citizens who are association members.
Open Cities now manages three software products in production as tools for digitalizing local governments.
Open Cities now manages approximately 1,000,000 CZK per year.
Open Cities consists of 3 central bodies: the Committee, the project board, and the membership meeting. All the parts communicate with each other and have divided responsibilities.
The Open Cities Committee is the statutory and chief executive body of the Association, providing its strategic direction and vision. The Committee comprises five members and is elected by the membership for two years.
a. The Open Cities Project Board is an expert advisory body to the Open Cities Committee. It focuses on expert support in professional matters within the scope of the Association and in project management. It is a body of selected experts with experience in digitalizing local government, open data, legal, and cyber security issues. The Committee of the Association elects the Project Board for two years.
The Members' Meeting is the supreme body of the Association, which represents the interests of the member governments. It elects and dismisses the Committee. The Membership Meeting shall comprise representatives of all members who meet the requirements to join the Society.
Lucie is a lawyer dealing with modern technologies and intellectual property. She founded the Open Content Association, runs the Czech branch of Creative Commons, and works in advocacy. She currently leads Open Cities, dealing with external partner relations, member care, presentation, and creating a sustainable vision.
Jiří has been working on openness in various forms, from open science to open code to open data. He serves as deputy chair of Open Cities and is involved in the direction of the organization and product development.
Jiří is a mentor and advisor in matters of the direction of the Association. He takes care of planning the development of the membership base and the focus of the Association. He has moved from the nuclear power industry by establishing a publishing house and an online shop to co-owning many companies and investing in innovative start-ups. He continuously contributes to the building of a modern and digitalized public administration.
Lenka is our expert in communication and event management. She is a long-time advocate for building and supporting a community of stakeholders connected by open source, civic tech, and especially open data. She has worked at the OSF Foundation and was at the birth of Česko.Digital and is currently working also in the Ministry of the Interior.
